What are Storyworth Celebrations?

Updated on October 2nd, 2024

Table of Contents

Is it free? How long does it take? How many people can I invite?

Storyworth Celebrations let people request one story each from a large group of people.

Some examples would be celebrating:

  • a loved one’s graduation, birthday, retirement, memorial
  • a couple’s wedding or anniversary
  • a family reunion, a group of friends
  • a location (e.g. a guest book, a family home)
  • an organization (e.g. a team, a business, a non-profit)

Is it free?

It is currently free to start a Celebration project, and you can invite as many people as you’d like. You only pay when you order your final book.

How long does it take?

The timeline for the project is completely up to you. You can invite people and collect stories for however long you'd like, and you can place your order whenever you're ready.

When you set up the project, we'll ask you for your celebration date. We'll use this to keep everyone on track so your book can arrive in time for your celebration. Here are our recommendations:

  • Collecting stories: we generally recommend giving people 2-3 weeks to send in their stories.
  • Reviewing & finalizing the book: we recommend giving yourself a few days to make sure the book turns out just like you want!
  • Printing, shipping, and delivering your book: we recommend leaving about 2 weeks for this. Actual shipping time can vary based on your shipping location and the shipping speed you select.

How many people can I invite?

You can invite as many people as you'd like! When inviting people to join your project, you can add a personal note where you can specify what question(s) you’d like for them to answer. We also have an inspiration page to help you think through questions that may be relevant to each occasion. We highly recommend giving people a specific ask or structure for their response to make it easier for people to start writing.
